It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James U. Wood of Manhattan, Kansas, who passed away on May 26, 2026, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Wood and Viola Hiner Wood; his wife Emma Wood; his siblings, Lloyd Wood (Woody), Roy Wood and Dorothy Koontz; his siblings-in-law, Lawanda Wood, Martha Wood, Evelyn Sanders, Louann Sanders and Earl Sanders; his nephew Scott Sanders; and his niece Brenda Sanders.
He is survived by: his children, Pamela Wood (Manhattan) and David Wood (Manhattan); his granddaughter Jessica Roberts (Javier Arriagada-Herrero); his great grandchild Julian Arriagada-Roberts of Sherman Oaks, CA.; his brother-in-law Ernie Sanders (Junction City); and his close friend Carol Greene.
