He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon Brychta and Anne Brychta; and his sister Judy Dollins. He is survived by: his wife Rita; his children, Josh Brychta and Ali Ross; his grandchildren, Dakota and Easton Ross; his stepchildren, Chad Cecil and Ty Cecil; his daughter-in-law Paige Hayes; his siblings, David Brychta and Annette Kelch; Bryan Ross.

Memorial contributions in memory of John are suggested the Lake Elbo Club.
