We bid farewell to Mary Lou Basham of Manhattan, Kansas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 24, 2025 at the age of 99. Mary Lou touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Charles Schovee and Martha Glenn Schovee; her brothers, Bill and John; her husband Edwin W. Basham Sr.; her son Charles Basham; and her daughter-in-law Elaine Basham.
She is survived by: her children, Edwin W. Basham Jr., Robert Basham and Susan Tholstrup (Spencer); her grandchildren, Elizabeth Marshall, Sean Tholstrup (Brittany), Caitlin Hearon (Keith) and Erin Scallan (Jared); and her great grandchildren, Ella, Norah, Zoey, Michael, Declyn, Gabriel and Jacob.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Meadowlark Chapel (2121 Meadowlark Rd, Manhattan, KS 66502). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home (1616 Poyntz Ave, Manhattan, KS 66502).
