With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Niel Nielsen of Manhattan, Kansas, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Niel may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Nielsen and Rose Nielsen (Kieko); and his children, Bonnie Nielsen and Bryan. He is survived by: his wife Shirley (Kaufholz) of Manhattan; his sister Esther Hackett of Rice Minnesota; and his siblings-in-law, Larry Hackett of Rice Minnesota, Sharon Neugent and Carol Kaufholz of Manhattan. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home (1616 Poyntz Ave, Manhattan, KS 66502).
