Leland Sherman Applequist Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Leland Sherman Applequist in Marquette, Kansas, who passed away on August 27, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Leland departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Leland may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Leland leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy Joyce Lillie; his parent Salina; and his stepson Hans Joseph Pankau. He is survived by: his stepdaughter Wendy Dupoy of Las Vegas; and his siblings, Ray Applequist (Deanna) of Falun and Ilene Lambert (Applequist).
