With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Terry CrossBear of Mayetta, Kansas, who passed away on June 17, 2025 at the age of 72. Though Terry may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Terry touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Michael "Mike" CrossBear and Isabelle CrossBear (Mitchell); his close friend Lisa Stanley-Winsea; his children, Stephanie Yazzie of Oklahoma City, OK, Dallas Bearskin of Winnebago, NE, Pete CrossBear of Albuquerque, NM, Sage Bumgartner of Memphis, TN and E'Haunee CrossBear of Topeka, KS; and his siblings, Linda Yazzie of Mayetta, KS, Ramona Cole of Plano, TX, Vernon Yazzie and Norwood Frank "Woody" Nocktonick. He was also cherished by 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Mercer Funeral Home (1101 W 4th St, Holton, KS 66436). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
