He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Tarum and Eunice Tarum; his grandparents, Atle, Jennie Tarum (Hansen), Frank and Evangeline Bentson (Eva Burk); his sister Julie; and his brother-in-law David Tidd.
He is survived by: his sister Nancy Woodruff (David) of Wichita, KS; his nieces and nephews, Brandon, Kristin and Ryan; his sister-in-law Laura Tidd (Julie) of Crown Point, IN; and his nieces and nephews, Josh Tidd (Emily), Ezekiel, Eva, Alice of Lincoln, NE, Joel Tidd (Leslie), Micah of Bremerton, WA, Jason Alatidd (Kaitlyn) of Topeka, KS, Jonathan Tidd (Ellen), Charlotte of Manhattan, KS, Jennifer Tidd of Shawnee, KS and Jessica Stovall (RJ) of Emporia, KS.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the New Gottland Lutheran Church Cemetery (1822 17th Ave, McPherson, KS 67460). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the New Gottland Lutheran Church (1822 17th Ave, McPherson, KS 67460).
Dan had lived in Wichita from 1979 – 2015, when he moved back to McPherson to help care first for his mom as she battled Alzheimer's, and then for his dad as he battled lung issues and declining health.
