Randy Bryant wrote a sympathy message

“I am shocked and saddened to learn of Mark's passing. We were friends from high school through our common love of pole vaulting and continued our friendship for many years past our pole vaulting connection. We also had a common love for the KC Chiefs! Although distanced through our life's path we spoke occasionally on the phone about our children, his music, pole vaulting and the Chiefs. I have so many great memories of Mark that I will always cherish. God bless his kids & family. - Randy Bryant”
