He was predeceased by : his parents, Shirley Carroll and Wiley; his wife Vickie Lynn McDonald (Long); his stepfather Bill Carroll; his brother Bill McDonald; and his nephew Brad McDonald.

He is survived by : his children, Jon McDonald (Angela) of Medicine Lodge, KS, Luke McDonald of Medicine Lodge, KS and Lynda McDonald (Josh Britton) of Medicine Lodge, KS; his grandchildren, Dylan, Evan, Haedan, Nathan McDonald, Cassidy, Daxton Brown, Sierra Aschenbrenner (Ryan), Adler McDonald and Jasmine Ricke; his great grandchildren, Charlotte, Caroline, Charlie, Cayne, Coleman McDonald and Sterling Aschenbrenner; and his brothers, Butch McDonald of Kingman, KS and Pee Wee Carroll (Cary) of Nashville, KS. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
