He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Simpson and Maxine Davis Simpson; his siblings, Richard Simpson and Kathy Jo Simpson; and his great grandchild Lincoln Bruns.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Self; his children, Amy Bruns (John) and Kevin Simpson (Natalie); his sister Marlys Field; his grandchildren, Tyler, Dalton, Jaret, Keara, Brennan and Bryson; and his great grandchildren, Sutton, Walker, Bristol, Claire and Hayes.
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 17th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Schneider Funeral Home, Mound City Chapel (319 W Chestnut St, Mound City, KS 66056). A funeral service was held on Monday, May 18th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Mound City Christian Church (418 W Spruce St, Mound City, KS 66056).
