Though Marie may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Marie touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe D. C. and Matilda Goering (Zerger); and her husband Homer Wedel. She is survived by: her children, Frank Wedel (Susan) of Leoti and Carla Shilts of Moundridge. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Moundridge Funeral Home (115 Cole St, Moundridge, KS 67107). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Eden Mennonite Church (401 18th Ave, Moundridge, KS 67107).
