He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerhard Schmitz and Marie Schmitz (Otte); his sisters, Helena Forster (Norbert), Johanna Knoblauch (Roman), Rose Ann Schmitz, Theresia Brunin (Ron), Joann Comstock (Earl), Carolyn Pritz (Tom) and Mary Magdelin; and his brothers-in-law, John Paney, Clarence Albert and John Wickman.
He is survived by: his siblings, Matilda Paney, Charlene Albert, Josephine Hallacy (Joe), Rosalin Wickman and Barbara Betzen (John). He is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the church or St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital.
