He was predeceased by: his mother Hilda Adkins; his wife Irene; and his sisters, Ramona Adkins, Anita Fox and Terri Anderson.

He is survived by: his father Basel Adkins; his daughter Cheryl Cardwell (Kevin); his brother George Adkins (Maureen); his granddaughters, Cara Leeds (Todd) and Amy Branine (Landon); and his great grandchildren, Anna, Hali, Adam and Lane. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the F.R.O.G. Diner at the Mulvane United Methodist Church.
