He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Schandler and Clara Schandler (Grimm); his son Thomas Gerard; his wife Pat Riemann; his son Damien; and his siblings, Marge Hickert (Jim), Lorene Meyer (Charles), Bernice Becker (Henry) and Bob Schandler (Pam).
He is survived by: his daughter-in-law Sue; and his grandsons, Nicolas and Jordan. He is also survived by 5 greatgrandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The lying in state will be held on Thursday, August 28th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Logan Funeral Home (102 Church St, Logan, KS 67646). A rosary will be held on Thursday, August 28th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 28th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, August 29th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the St. John Catholic Church (203 Main St, Logan, KS 67646).
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Catholic Church or Catholic Charities of Salina.
