He was predeceased by: his mother Angela "Angie" Garnica (Terrones); his brother Andrew Medina; his grandparents, Andrew Terrones (Conception) and Carmen Garnica (Francis); and his aunts and uncles, Jessie Garnica (Rosie), Victor Garnica, Jesus Luna and Bertha Briseno (Lupe).
He is survived by: his father Eugene "Gene" Garnica; his brother Tony Medina; his son Alex Medina, Jr.; his aunts and uncles, Delores "Dee" Luna (Terrones), Julianne Garnica (Carla), Maxine Garnica, John Garnica, Carmen Garnica, Jr. and Maria Jaso; his partner's children, Zoey Dawn Chumbley, Abby Marie Bell and Cowan Jr.; and his pets, Pumpkin, Missy, Fizzgigg, Buddy and Apollo. He is also survived by many cousins, friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church (421 S Ash St, Newton, KS 67114). A rosary was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Alex's love for animals, a memorial has been established with: Caring Hands Humane Society, 1400 SE 3rd Street, Newton, Kansas 67114.
