He is survived by: his former wife Janet Schroeder Sommer; his daughters, Katie, Melissa, Shelly and Debra; his former spouse Marion Strain Miller; his close friends, Katie (Unruh), Tim Pankratz, Melissa (Unruh), Bob Burton, Shelly (Unruh), Tony Ingram, Debra Unruh and Bobby Herrera; his grandchildren, Whitney Janzen-Pankratz, Camden Pankratz, Emma Burton, Elyse Burton, Allyssa Ingram and Avery Ingram; and his great grandchildren, Theodore Janzen and Zachary Janzen.
A burial was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Restlawn Cemetery (4619 US-50, Newton, KS 67114).
