He was predeceased by : his parents, Jewell Mellott (Hague) and Willis Mellott. He is survived by : his wife Pat; his siblings, Alan Mellott (Judy) and Carolee Foth (Jerry); and his children, Michelle Mellott, Ginette Huelsman, William Mellott (Lanette) and Jacqueline Schuler (Travis). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to Good Shepherd Hospice and Peabody Christian Church and left in care of Petersen Family Funeral Home.
