James Preheim Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James Preheim (Newton, Kansas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 29, 2025 at the age of 90. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Waltner (Waldo Preheim) and Adolph Waltner; his brother Calvin Preheim; his siblings-in-law, Ken Graber and Marilyn Preheim; and his niece Gina Preheim.
He is survived by: his wife Gladys Preheim; his children, Berni Ronnebaum (Russ), Bonnie Shaw and Randall Preheim (Kathy); his grandchildren, Trey Ronnebaum (Julia), Blake Ronnebaum (Patrick Gillespie), Christopher Shaw (Erik Breckenridge), Bradley Shaw, Wesley Shaw (Ali), Kaitlyn Preheim, Zachary Preheim and Nicholas Preheim; his great grandchildren, Harold Rex Ronnebaum and Haizley Shaw; his siblings, Ken Preheim and Judy Graber; and his brother-in-law Marion Krehbiel (Alice). He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Zion Mennonite Church (525 N Main St, Elbing, KS 67041).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to MCC, Bethel College, New Hope Shelter, or Kidron Bethel Village.
