He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Theodore Romero and Rebecca Ayala; his daughters, Tanee Coleman (Marcus) and Stephanie Ellis (David); his siblings, Teddy, Ronnie, Alonzo, Linda, Mary, Rosemary and Juanita; his grandchildren, Joseph, Destiny, Adriana, Natalia, Mia, Faith, Hope, Malachi and Sophia; and his great grandchildren, Michael, Imani, Luca, Isabella, Gianna, Manuella and Rudy Jr..
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Newton Mexican American Athletics Club, a place where Manuel's heart truly belonged on the field.
