He was predeceased by: his parents, Annie Deckert and Alvin Deckert; his wife Lois Duerksen; and his brother Kenneth Deckert. He is survived by: his children, Alan Deckert (Ulla) and Alice Deckert (Michael McGrath); his granddaughters, Caitlin McGrath (Adam Skalanakis) and Megan McGrath; his sister Alison Hiebert (Harvey); and his nieces, Jennifer Hiebert (Lauren Good) and Greta Hiebert (Nathan Smucker).
