She was predeceased by: her parents, Tobias Schmidt and Lena Schmidt (Decker). She is survived by: her husband John Claassen; her sons, Robert Claassen (Shelley) of Andover, KS and Roger Claassen (Cheryl Martin) of Hyattsville, MD; her grandchildren, Kyle Claassen, Kevin Claassen (Michelle), Adam Claassen (Bailey Herzberg) and Olivia Martin (Garrison); and her great grandchildren, Caleb and Cody.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Grace Hill Mennonite Church (10218 SE 12th St, Whitewater, KS 67154).
Memorial contributions may be sent to Bethel College or the Kansas Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution (in care of Bethel College).
