Robert Swickard Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Swickard of Newton, Kansas, who passed away on August 9, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, let his loved ones carry forward the torch of his memory, illuminating the path ahead with the warmth of his love and the brilliance of his spirit. Though Robert may journey beyond the horizon of our sight, his essence remains woven into the very fabric of our being — a guiding light in the darkness, a beacon of hope in the night.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Swickard and Pauline Swickard (Dillon); and his brother Dick. He is survived by: his sons, Ron Swickard (Sheryl), Roger Swickard (Kristi) and Sterling Emerson (Kristina); his wife Janice Emerson (Jan); and his brother Jack. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to Salem United Methodist Church and Good Shepherd Hospice in care of Peterson Funeral Home.
