She was predeceased by: her parents, Virgil "Chuck" E. Paulson and Marjorie L. Crandel; her husband Marty Clay; and her brother Emmett "Butch" Paulson. She is survived by: her siblings, Marjorie Rogers and Del Paulson; her daughter Michelle Crist; her son-in-law Michael Crist; her son Benjamin "Ben" Clay; and her grandchildren, Wyatt, Lilly, Ellie and Oswin Crist.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 8th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (200 W 6th St, Newton, KS 67114).

She was instrumental in launching the Alzheimer's care unit at the Presbyterian Manor in Newton, Kansas.
