With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wanda Platt of Newton, Kansas, who passed away on April 10, 2024 at the age of 75. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Alfred "Dale" Glass and Myrtle Glass (Scrivner); her husband Clyde "Tony" Platt; her brother Alex Glass; her son-in-law Clinton "Tiger" Wilson; and her nephew James "Jimmy" Glass.

She is survived by : her children, Charlotte Wilson of Seminole, AL, Tony Platt (Venita) of Kamay, TX, Jodi Runnells (James) of Newton, KS and Lori Shaffer (Dan) of Dallas, TX.; her grandchildren, Christy Stargell (Jason Britt), Michael Wilson (Christi Wurth), Tory Runnells (Alex Piatt), Leslie Smith (Rich), Derick Platt (Erin Jones) and Trey Runnells (Ashley Ihde); and her great grandchildren, Jeremy, Kylee, Lacy, Adam, Elisha, Olivia, Tyler, Jonah, Leona, Logan, Blake, Jackson, Anton, Owen and Oliver.

Viewing was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Petersen Family Funeral Home (215 N Main St, Newton, KS 67114). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 18th 2024 from 3:30 PM to 3:45 PM.

Memorial contributions can be made out to Good Shepherd Hospice and left in care of Petersen Family Funeral Home.
