He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Arthur and Mildred Neva McEwen (Biery); his son Delmon; his brother Julian Arthur McEwen (Carol Holmes); and his brother-in-law Kenneth Hayes.

He is survived by: his wife Darlene; his children, Carmen McEwen of Topeka, KS, Dena Duhn (Anthony Frank) of Powell Butte, OR, Dustin McEwen (Sunshine Sheldon) of Smith Center, KS, Cara Cramer (Benjamin) of Healy, KS and Diana Joo Herran (Enrique) of Montreal; his grandchildren, Emili Erdman (Kenny), Garret Kasl (Niki), Elizabeth Blackburn (Garrett), Rachel Kirk (Cody), Shelby Duhn, Koby McEwen (Tyler), Jaida McEwen, Cheyenne Cramer and Spencer Cramer; his great grandchildren, Dilla Kasl, Jerlene Erdman, Landen Kasl, Kyzer Kasl, Kannon Kirk, Hadlee Kirk and Hanna Joo; and his sister Virginia Kay Hayes.
