We announce the death of Esther N. Thompson (Norton, Kansas), who passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 84. Esther will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Roy F. Langer and Jennie M. Langer (Fulton); her husband Steve Thompson; her son Scott (Richard Langer); her sister Donna Paige; and her nephew Jim Paige.
She is survived by: her children, Eric (Kellie) of Norton, Monica Bach (Anthony) of Woodruff, KS, Natalie Wallace (Alex) of Garden City, KS and Paula McKenna (Greg) of Selden, KS; her grandchildren, Caleb, Calen, Colten, Caden Bach, Marlee Ediger, Landee, Hallee McKenna, Baylee Freund, Brittany Lance, Cameron, Austin Wallace, Katelyn Branstetter, Patricia Thompson, Kenzie, Kassidy, Kaylie Thompson and Jacob Tharp; and her great grandchildren, Corbin, Colter, Adalynn, Leland, Brynnlie, Cayson, Grady, Myles, Roslynn, Nathaniel, Heber, Briella and Duane.
A rosary was held on Wednesday, September 2nd 2026 from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (108 S Wabash Ave, Norton, KS 67654). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
