He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Shobe, and Ann Wagner Shobe, Jr.; his daughter Emily Esther; his sister Christina; and his in-laws, Carl and Nila Wesch.
He is survived by: his son Mark Joseph of McCook, NE; his wife Janice Wesch of Oberlin; his siblings, Cindy Whiteley (Don) of Thornton, CO, Becky Cooper (Wayne) of Edmond, OK, Debby Gunselman (Terry) of Lawrence, KS, Sandy Rush (Terry), Don Shobe (Ellen) of Lawrence, KS, Joe Shobe (Marie) of Wichita, KS and Andy Shobe (Marcia) of Fayetteville, AR; his grandchildren, Evan Shobe of Palmdale, CA, Celianna Shobe of Oberlin, Danielle Weyeneth of Oberlin and Elizabeth Weyeneth of Oberlin; his brothers-in-law, Jim Wesch (Pam) and Jack Wesch (Jackie); Sara Weyeneth of Oberlin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 25th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Gobber Funeral Home (121 N Penn Ave, Oberlin, KS 67749). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Oberlin United Methodist Church (102 N Cass Ave, Oberlin, KS 67749).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Emily Shobe Memorial Art Scholarship Fund, the Oberlin United Methodist Church, or to Rotary International.
