He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Goltl and Jaunita Goltl (Buk); his wife Dixie Rathburn; his brother Ralph Goltl; his sisters-in-law, Marilyn Goltl and Beverley Goltl; and his son-in-law Marlin Marintzer.

He is survived by: his daughter Dana Marintzer; his brother Roger Goltl; and his brother-in-law Larry Rathburn (Jackie). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions can be made out to Oberlin Lions Club or Decatur County Museum.
