He was predeceased by: his parents, James W. Varvel and Elvera M. Varvel (Rasmussen); and his brothers, Gary Varvel and Kenneth Varvel. He is survived by: his wife Karen Varvel; his sons, Nicholas Varvel of Olathe, Kansas and Christopher Varvel of Olathe, Kansas; his stepson Ryan Keele; his siblings, George Varvel (Trudy) and Shirley Morava; his sister-in-law Bonnie Varvel; and his stepgrandchildren, Madison Keele of Otterville and Mason Keele of Otterville. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
