He was predeceased by: his father Larry Jean Groom; his grandparents, Marion, Verena Groom, Harold and Barbara Christy; his aunt Linda Miller; and his uncles, David Christy, Doyle Groom and Ronald Miller.
He is survived by: his mother Joyce Hansen (Groom); his sister April; his wife Stephanie Groom (Drogan); his daughter Elise Hayden Groom; his brother Kevin Groom of Pensacola; his sisters-in-law, Cheryl Drogan of Charlotte and Erica Hillow (Robert) of Bay Village, Ohio.; and his siblings' children, Hadley Groom, Calloway Groom, Ainsley Wilson, Ian Wilson, Theodore Hillow and Ben Hillow.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home (14275 S Black Bob Rd, Olathe, KS 66062). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location.
