It is with sadness that the passing of Dorothy Arlene Nelson of Olathe, Kansas is shared. Dorothy, born on March 14, 1936, passed away on June 4, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Dorothy will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around her. Friends and family will honor Dorothy by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence she had in their lives. Though Dorothy is no longer present, the bonds she created and the experiences shared will endure. Dorothy’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew her.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Homer Dewey and Grace Brenneman; her husband Charles Edward Nelson; her grandson Zachary Heston; and her brother Don Brenneman.
She is survived by: her daughters, Barbara Staley (Jim) of Olathe, Sandra Dillon (Dan) of Fort Scott and Deborah Wilson (Gerald) of Paola, Kansas; and her sister Frances Radley. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dorothy's memory to Hospice House in Olathe, Kansas.
