He is survived by: his daughter Lauren Elizabeth Korte; his wife Lisa Brown; his son Spencer Brown; his daughter-in-law Satya; his granddaughter Thea of Columbus, Ohio; his son-in-law Zack; his grandsons, Colton Douglas Korte and Crew Zachary Korte of Olathe, Kansas; his mother Barbara Brown Hutchinson of Circleville, Kansas; his father-in-law William Meares of Leawood, Kansas; and his siblings, Luke Brown and Georgia Flood. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to The Hospice House of Olathe in honor of Douglas Brown.
