With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James E. Lancaster in Olathe, Kansas, who passed away on September 27, 2025 at the age of 85. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Edward and Ruth Frances Lancaster (Hougland); and his grandparents, Elmer, Bertha Lancaster, Aaron and Bertha Hougland.
He is survived by: his wife Virginia Carey; his sons, Tim Lancaster (Brenda) of Lake Lotawana and Dr. Trent Lancaster (Jody) of Ottawa, Kansas; his grandchildren, Tate Lancaster (Gracie Fitzgerald) of Overland Park, Hope Lancaster of Shawnee, Maddy Srna (Josh) of Gardner and Cooper Lancaster of Sabetha, Kansas; his great grandchild Parker Lee Srna; and his brother John Lancaster (Ellen) of Redfield, Kansas..
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Dengel & Son Mortuary - Crematory (235 S Hickory St, Ottawa, KS 66067). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Ottawa (203 E 4th St, Ottawa, KS 66067). A burial will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Highland Cemetery (1050 E 15th St, Ottawa, KS 66067).
