He was predeceased by: his parents, Orville and Rosemary; and his brother Gregory Matthies. He is survived by: his wife Diana Matthies; his children, Keyronniqua and Jamaica; his grandchildren, Raqu'elle, Kyrell and Jazmyn; his sisters, Sarah Matthies and Marriann Haner; and his half-brother Bob Matthies (Bruce).
