He was predeceased by: his parents, Laird Wilcox Jr. and AuDeene Stromer Wilcox; and his son Laird A. Wilcox. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Wilcox; his daughters, Elizabeth Carrier and Carrie Wilcox (Rory Dudley); his stepsons, Ross Thompson (Peggy) and Barry Thompson (Kristin); and his grandchildren, Christine Franklin (John Pinkerton), Laird J. and Theodore Wilcox. He is also survived by five step grandchildren.
