With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Leo E. Rieke in Olathe, Kansas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 25, 2025 at the age of 95. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his wife Helen Heft Rieke; his daughter Patty Regan; his son-in-law Marty Regan; his grandchildren, Donny Goode and Dakota Ellsworth; and his parents, Ernie Rieke and Lucy Rieke.

He is survived by: his children, Terry Goode (Don), Diane Ellsworth (Dan), Leo Rieke II (Rosie), Kathleen Rieke (Randy Hocking), Chris Jewell (Brian) and Bill Rieke (Mona). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and a wide circle of extended family and dear friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Santa Marta Benevolent Fund in memory of Leo Rieke, 13800 West 116th Street, Olathe, Kansas 66062 and to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church 13615 West 92nd Street, Lenexa, Kansas 66215.

“We are so sorry for your loss. My mom, Marie who lives across the hall at Santa Marta has said so many times how much she misses Leo! He was always so kind and concerned about others. Leo frequently came to visit our Mom. He always had a smile and reached out to touch her hand! Their conversations were challenging because one of them couldn’t hear much better than the other!! We are thinking of your family and will pray for all of you and your dear Leo!”
