He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Houghton and Bernice Houghton; his grandson Davis Cripe; and his brother Keith. He is survived by: his children, Amy Nitza, Heidi Cripe (Sean) and Will Gibson; his grandchildren, Eden, Hope, Trey Nitza, Melissa, Alysia Cripe, Caleb Gibson, Daniel, Emily Jakes, Ava Charnley and Ellah Perry; his sisters, Kathy Jensen (Steve) and Patsy Houghton; and his sister-in-law Debra Houghton (Leon).

Plans remain underway for a Celebration of Life, and for memorial fund contributions.
