Though Margaret may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Margaret touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, William Denver Yancey and Margaret Yancey (Dickson); her husband Richard Garland Nichols of Club's Joe McGuff Lifetime Achievement Award; and her nephew Steve Little. She is survived by: her children, Richard William "Rick" Nichols, Thomas Britt Nichols (Teresa) and Dr. Margaret Ellen Nichols (Bill); and her sister Carolyn Kent (Yancey). She is also survived by six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and ten nephews and nieces.
Sidewalk Sale Across America, a novel published in 2021, was Peg's prescription for the restoration of retail businesses nationwide after the first assault of COVID-19.
