McGilley & Frye Funeral Home & Cremation ServiceModena Forbush, 54, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away expectantly on Wednesday April 3, 2024 at 3:54p.m. She was preceded in death by her Father Jerold Lee Forbush, Grandmother Frances Johnson, and Brother Gerald Lee Forbush.

She leaves behind her son Christopher Forbush-Willis and daughter Modena Willis. Her granddaughter Nevaeh Williamson. Her sisters Frances "Donnie" Forbush, Jerri Cochran, Lisa Forbush and Tiffani Newhouse. Her beloved boyfriend Andy Hopkins. She also leaves behind her nieces Crystal Curry, Ashley Raske, Brittney Miller, Nichole Cochran, Sarah Cochran, Brooke Sutton, Brianna Miller, and Alisha Sutton. Her nephews Brian Miller and Gerald Miller. As well as a host of great nieces, nephews, and friends.

Modena was born on September 3, 1969, in Des Moines, Iowa to Shirley Forbush and Jerold Forbush. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1987. She later went on to pursue her associate degree in medical coding and billing in 2017 from the Ultimate Medical Academy. She absolutely loved school and was so proud of her accomplishments.

She was a single mother of two who loved her children and did what she could for them both. She enjoyed spending time supporting her granddaughter in sports and theater, sharing a joke with her boyfriend, running 987 errands for her daughter, or talking to loved ones. Known for her funny personality, she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She loved her big sisters deeply. She always said she was the pretty sister and that her mom finally got it right on the fourth try, since she was the youngest. She was given the nickname "Tina" from her sisters. One of their favorite memories together is when they all would get into trouble together by their grandparents.

Modena's "Celebration of Life" will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024. She will then be cremated after the service concludes. The service will take place at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula Street Olathe, Kansas. Immediately following the service will be refreshments at Olathe Lake. An Inurnment will take place at a later date where she will be taken to Des Moines, Iowa to be laid to rest next to her father in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
