We announce the death of Ruby Mae Price Ivy (Olathe, Kansas), who passed away on September 18, 2026, at the age of 94. Ruby will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Julia Price (Page) and Henry Price. She is survived by: her significant other Elbert Ivy, Jr.; her children, Risë Ivy, Lenora Ivy, Catherine Smith (Byron Smith), Janice Ivy, Douglas Ivy (Michelle Ivy) and Tracy Ivy Owens; her grandchildren, Danielle Etienne (Borge Etienne), Demitrius Owens, Amber Byron (Stephen Byron), Spencer Alan and Marcus Ivy; and her great grandchild Zion Byron. She is also survived by other extended family members, friends, former students, sorority sisters, church family and neighbors.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home (105 E Loula St, Olathe, KS 66061). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Catholic Church (21650 W 115th Terrace, Olathe, KS 66061). A committal service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the Leavenworth National Cemetery (150 Muncie Rd, Leavenworth, KS 66048).
