He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph F. McAtee and Naomi A. McAtee (Nichols); and his brother Cuyler McAtee. He is survived by: his son Scott McAtee of Spring Hill, Kansas; and his sister Debra Levin (Steve) of Kensington, Kansas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
