We bid farewell to Carol Rae Holmes of Oswego, Kansas, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on October 16, 2025 at the age of 80. Carol touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Spencer and Letha Spencer; her husband Wayne L. Holmes; and her brothers, Neal Spencer, Donnie Spencer and Ray Spencer.
She is survived by: her children, Kimberly Stone (Steve) of Oswego, KS and Dustin Holmes (Tara) of Lockwood, MO; her grandchildren, Khalil Holmes of Joplin and Autumn Stone of Pittsburg, KS; her brother Bill Spencer; and her siblings-in-law, Lloyd Holmes, Judy Coburn and Jean Tullis.
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 19th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Derfelt Funeral Home - Oswego (203 Illinois St, Oswego, KS 67356). A funeral service was held on Monday, October 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Labette Baptist Church, in care of the funeral home. Keep Carol's legacy alive by donating to a charity in need.
