She was predeceased by: her parents, Moses Newell and Clara Newell (Schilling); her husband Loren Smith; her son Bobby Dale Smith; and her siblings, Richard Newell, John "Buddy" Newell, Rosalie Byrd and Lacene Holland.
She is survived by: her sons, Ricky Smith of Sherman City, KS, David Smith (Debbie) of Cherokee, KS and Danny Smith of Sherman City, KS; her sister Rae Meriaux of Columbus, GA; and her grandchildren, Bryan Smith (Legena), Jason Smith (Dorothy), Candi Hignite (Ron), Krissie Anderson (Gary), Trampas Smith (Jessica) of Danny Smith, JR. and Bobbi Jo Curtis (David). She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
