It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Elsie Aletta Smith (Ottawa, Kansas), born in Hugoton, Kansas, who passed away on June 23, 2020, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Miller and Nellie Miller (Teghtmeyer); her husband Alvin Edward Smith; her daughter Ava Rice; her siblings, Melvin Miller, Evelyn (Irvin Hoblit) and Doris Miller; and her sons-in-law, Dale Francisco and Skip Clift.

She is survived by: her children, Robert Smith of Pomona, Dona Demoret (Harold) of WaKeeney, Judy Michael (Larry) of Osage City, Aletta Purcell (Craig) of Pomona, Kenneth Smith (Louise) of Ottawa and Gloria Clift of Conroe, Texas; her son-in-law Gary Rice of Overland Park; and her sisters-in-law, Fern Miller (Hirt) of Westphalia, Betty Smith (Mohler) of Houston Texas and Martha Mohler (Smith) of Buhler. She is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren; fifty-four great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
