He was predeceased by: his parents, Oliver "Bill" Ellis and Lois M. Ellis (Shepard); his siblings, Jerry, Randy, Rick Ellis, Sheila Mann and Lesa Sherwood; and his nephew Terry Ellis.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Ellis; his children, Kim Markley (Shawn) of Ottawa, Chad Ellis of Harris and Corey Ellis (Lynsey) of Williamsburg, Kansas; his grandchildren, Drake, Mya Markley, Bentley, Kinsley Ellis and Breyer Ellis; and his siblings, Jack Ellis (Marilyn) of Humboldt, Rex Ellis (Loretta) of Iola, Ron Ellis (Debbie) of LeRoy and Patsey Baker (Doyle) of Olathe. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, April 24th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Feuerborn Family Funeral Service - Garnett (219 S Oak St, Garnett, KS 66032). A funeral service was held on Friday, April 24th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, April 24th 2026 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Colony Cemetery (11896 SW Jefferson Rd, Colony, KS 66015).
