Merrita Poe Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Merrita Poe (Ottawa, Kansas), who passed away on November 1, 2025 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilfred Turley and Mabel Turley (Halfman); her husband Jim; her sister Juanita Pearce; and her son-in-law Robert L. "Bob" Wiley.
She is survived by: her children, Nancy J. Lillie Barger (Mike) of Linn Valley, KS, James R. Poe (Diana) of Greeley, KS, Dale E. Poe (Janea) and Anita R. Poe Wiley of Osawatomie, KS; and her siblings, Franklin Turley of Baldwin, KS, Laverl Turley of Fort Scott, KS, Fred Turley of McCraken, KS, Kenneth Turley of Stark, KS, Margaret Johnston of Butterfield, MO, Kathy Stansell of Rosemount, MN, Mary Lightfoot of Pawnee Rock, KS and Scott Turley of Lane, KS.. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 9th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home (325 S Hickory St, Ottawa, KS 66067). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 10th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Ruhamah Baptist Church (2093 Texas Rd, Rantoul, KS 66079).
