With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Roger L. Downey (Ottawa, Kansas), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 11, 2025 at the age of 80. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Downey and Maxine Downey (Savidge); and his brother Doug Downey (Dian Downey). He is survived by: his step-kids, Kimberly Shepherd and Larry Reddick; his grandsons, Gregory Shepherd, Marcus Shepherd and Michael Oughton; and his great grandchildren, Austin, Malachi, Makayla, Jayden, Kinsley, Maddox and Julian.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Dengel & Son Mortuary - Crematory (235 S Hickory St, Ottawa, KS 66067). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 16th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
