He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Chappell; his half-brothers, Randall Franks of Tunnel Hill, GA and Jerry Robinson, Sr. of Pensacola, FL; his sons, Derek Chappell (Rhonda) and Jason Chappell (Sue Han-Chappell) of Brooklyn, NY; and his granddaughters, Abby Hazen (Adam) of Olathe, KS, Grace Chappell (Holt McKenney) of Kansas City, MO, Olivia Chappell of New Paltz, NY and Naomi Chappell of Brooklyn, NY..
Visitation was held on Sunday, May 3rd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home (325 S Hickory St, Ottawa, KS 66067). A graveside service was held on Monday, May 4th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Highland Cemetery (1050 E 15th St, Ottawa, KS 66067).
