He is survived by: his parents, James Jr. Goodyear and Carol Goodyear (Cooper); his wife Sandy; his sister Joni Smith (Neil); and his children, Kathy Baird (Travis), Karly Goodyear (Bert Akin) and James C. Goodyear (Myriah). He is also survived by his 11 grandchildren.
