He was predeceased by: his parents, Dr. Isadore Joseph Waxse and Mary Luray Waxse (Poole); his daughter Rachel Bartel (Waxse); his siblings, Paula Goering (Waxse) and Joe Waxse; his brothers-in-law, Charlie Mansfield and Joe Goering; and his nephew Mark Mansfield.

He is survived by: his wife Judy Pfannenstiel; his children, Ryan Waxse (Marlene), Rebecca Waxse (Sam Surface) and Elayna Waxse (Joe Strachan); his sister Sylvia Mansfield (Waxse); his sister-in-law Marianne Waxse (Nabozny); his son-in-law John Bartel; his grandchildren, Kaylee Bartel, Laine Bartel, Waylon Waxse and Sullivan Surface; his former wife Linda Waxse (Schilling); and his extended family, Ongie Douglas and Broil. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
